This film worth the watch? I've been put off by people's reactions after watching it, but it constantly comes up as one to watch!

Travelling to Italy for a holiday, and wanted to watch some films that get us in the mood. Watched Under the Tuscan sun, and was a good starting point. Then Gladiator ofc, but what others would you recommend? Any films set in the Cinque Terre area?
