Bakala Martin Net

Bakala Martin Net, aka Cheriff Bakala, is not a usual rapper. He chose a different path for his music, and developed what he calls pop-folk music. In this style, he mixes hip-hop with traditional congolese music, with influences of soul, reggae and r’n’b. He plays with the FB Stars, one of the best bands in Brazzaville, formed by the members of the Batola family Kitio and Magic (bass and guitars). The senegalese Aliou Diouf aka Jo’o is the drummer of the band and uses the “bat-bid”, a kind of drums made of water cans. Tsoueki Ulrich Angueran aka Balladeur plays the back guitars, while Pangopo Aurore Martinette, aka Hurricane Boréale, is the slammer of the band.
